Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Sold by T. Cox at the Lamb, under the Royal Exchange, Cornhill. (1720). Hard covers. Quarto. Pages 753-844, 92pp. Includes folding map of Gloucestershire by Robert Morden and a table of road distances between towns in the county, which is decorated with arms of the towns. Bound in quarter Morocco with marbled boards; gilt title on the spine. Upper board detached. The map is a little creased and the rest of the pages are toned. The table is stained and repaired, verso.

Half-Leather. Condition: Fair. Marbled boards and green leather spine, the latter worn and split down hinges, but holding. Internally clean end papers; lacks title page; folding map in tact. Pp 1071-1270. Contents clean but browned.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. being the Magna Britannia section on Norfolk pages 251 to 458 complete with pull out hand coloured map at front and distance table at rear. Hardcover no dust jacket. 3/4 leather binding over marbled boards with gilt titles to newer spine. Binding in good condition with a little rubbing to boards. Inside professional tape repairs to both hinges leaving it as good as new. All pages and map in very good clean condition with the odd spot of foxing. A very good copy, Scarce.

From the library of W. Salt Brassington, with his bookplate; Brassington was an antiquary and historian who published works on Worcestershire. Later half morocco and paper covered boards, gilt title to spine; head and tail of the spine and extremities rather rubbed resulting in some losses, boards a touch shelfworn & rubbed. Ownership bookplate of W. Salt Brassington to front pastedown. Later endpapers. Title page age-toned & offset, map with just one or two spots but generally very bright, the occasional spot to prelims, generally very smart with bindingg remaining firm. Complete with alphabetical table bound to rear. A smart example of this topographical exploration of Worcestershire, from the library of a prominent historian.

Original boards(?) rebound with new spine and endpapers. Some age staining to pages otherwise in Good condition consistent with age.

First Edition Thus. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 348 pages; A very attractive example - hardcover in original near black cloth with ornate decorative borders in blind to the front panel and title lettering brightly in gilt to the spine. Soundly bound with light shelf/handling wear to cloth at edges; corners lightly bumpred and spine ends crimped with a few flecks missing from cloth at spine ends. Prior owner's personal library catalog number marked in white to the lower spine. Revised from 1612 and 1688 editions by Cox. Aside from the personal catalog # painted to base of spine this copy is exceptionally well preserved.Pages fresh and unmarked. VG or better.

Board. Condition: Good/Very Good. Comprises title + folded map ( by Robert Morden) + pp 327-461 + chart of distances. Other than the title page, which looks to be late 19th cent, this is a section of the original publication. The cover may date from the same time as the title page. Internally very good, binding firm, a little wear to edges of boards. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Bound in marbled boards with leather spine, some wear. Tears to the inner margins of pages 463/464. Small tear also to the fore edge of the map. Book.
