Soft cover. Condition: Fine. First Thus. 1st printing thus. Stapled wraps. (8pp.). The original letter was penned June 28, 1845 from Oregon City and addressed to "Brothers John & Ronald." Medorem advises his brothers to come to Oregon and gives them specific instructions such as what to acquire for the overland journey: cattle, a "good young mule," etc., and not to start with less than $75. Rather scarce little booklet. Fine.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Original tan wrapper with black lettering on front cover. 5 3/4 X 8 3/4 inches. 26 pages. this copy is No. 579 of 734 copies printed. From the colophon, "Medorem Crawford was one of the grand old pioneers of early Oregon. We have here a day to day account of his journey over the Oregon Trail in 1842 under the leadership first of Dr. Elijah White and later under Lansford Hastings. A few accounts found in connection with the journal are added. This booklet was printed at the Star Job Office, in Eugene, Oregon, 1897." Front cover has a small spot, however pages are very clean and complete. Binding is tight.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Original publisher's white wrappers. 6" x 9 1/8." Twenty-six pages, complete. Clean copy with minimal wear along the binding. Very lightly sunned and browned. This book contains the journal of Medorem Crawford (1819-1893) who was born in New York and traveled to Oregon as a member of one of the earliest pioneering groups to cross the Plains. He became a member of the Legislature of Provisional Government of Oregon from 1847-1849. Crawford was elected to State Legislature in 1860. Other accounts in connection with Crawford's journal are added in this edition as well.
