Dialectics was the official organ of Critics Group, an alliance of Marxist literary and art critics headed by Puerto Rican literary critic Angel Flores. The journal printed new critical essays by American Marxist scholars as well as translations of classic works of Russian criticism by Plekhanov, Lenin, Marx, and others. Issues 3-8 print an ongoing series of bibliographies: "Dialectics and the Sciences;" "Psychology and Marxism;" "Soviet Literature;" etc. Critics Group also issued a series of monographs under the series title "Critics Group Pamphlets."
