Very good except for some ink staining across the top edge. The Dhahran Airfield was agreed between the Saudi and US Governments in 1945, and built and operated by the US Air Force during 1946-62. In addition to bringing in Aramco staff, it was a strategic Cold War location. It was fairly undeveloped at this time. During 1951-55 the Saudis allowed the US to expand it in return for military training. Allan Parmenter is named in the 16 August 1950 edition of Aramco's Sun and Flare as a newcomer to Ras Tanura (p11). TWA's first jet flight to Dhahran took place on 1 November 1960.
