The author recounts the final days of the dandy now penniless, and insane from syphilis. His precipitate fall from the grace was set in motion partly by a falling-out with his former close friend the Prince Regent (during which Brummell uttered the immortal phrase, ''Alvanley, who's your fat friend?'') and partly by his intemperate gambling.Spine splitting. Covers slightly dusty with some small nicks at the edges. Very good. Scarce.
