Written by a close friend of Hayes', the book explores her exemplary character and recounts her dedication to domestic life, education, and philanthropy. The author highlights Hayes's efforts to promote temperance and her work on behalf of industrial education for women. The book also examines Hayes's unwavering faith and her commitment to the Golden Rule, which she believed should guide all human interactions. The book is a touching tribute to a remarkable woman and an insightful exploration of the themes of faith, service, and the power of a single life to make a meaningful difference. It concludes by emphasizing the profound impact of Hayes's life and work, both within her own time and for generations to come. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

2pp., 12mo. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Considering the fact that Mrs Harford states that she is staying at the home of Mrs Martin, and that Mr Martin died in 1832, it seems probable that the letter refers to the preparations for the coronation of Queen Victoria, which occurred on 28 June 1838. The letter reads: 'Mrs Harford understanding that people are admitted to see the Preparations in the Abbey & thinking it probable that Mr Gillen may have been employed in the decoration, will be very much obliged to Mr Wilson if he could procure her a Ticket to see them. Mrs Harford would have called herself upon Mr Wilson to have asked him this favor but that she is staying 12 miles from London & Mr Harford is in Worcestershire. A line directed Mrs Harford at Mrs Martins', Camden Chislehurst, will find her.'.
