This little gem of poems by Elisabeth Davis Richards, an African-American Poet from West Virginia. Published in 1928, the second printing of a first edition is a collection of her poems, which were first published in literary magazines of the time, as diverse as the Poetry Review of London and The Virginian Pilot (newspaper). An extraordinary accomplishment for a woman of color in the 1920s. The book size is 6 x 8 inches and is approximately 96 pages. The cover is blue with a diamond pattern. The is some edgewear on the lower edges of the book boards and the spine has cracked from the rear book board but the spine is not detached from the binding. This copy was given as a gift and the inside front cover has an inscription form 1929. Also, there is some foxing on the pages.
