Paul Colin (illustrator). Promotional brochure issued for Devi Dja's first European Tour in 1937. Large format, 23cm x 31cm, staple bound in stiff card wraps, 20 pages, illustrated with photographs throughout. Front cover has a design of a Balinese dancer by renowned artist and poster designer Paul Colin. Colin designed posters for artists and theatres such as the Folies Bergère, and the Moulin Rouge, and this work fits well within his field. Devi Dja (1914-1989) was an Indonesian born dancer, singer and actress, who led an Indonesian touring dance troupe to Europe in the late 1930's, causing a sensation. She later settled in the US. Laid into the brochure is a four page programme of Devi Dja's European tour in French. In Very Good condition. Rare.
