Dimitroff traces the history of the Houghton family, glass making in the United States, and life in Corning, New York, in this scholarly book. With the cooperation of Corning Inc. and Houghton family members, the author shares a trove of photographs and draws on his extensive research to give a rich portrayal of the city and the family that played a critical role in its development. DUST JACKET: The jacket has a $125 price sticker on the bottom rear. There is very slight wrinkling at the edges but no rips or chips and the jacket is very clean. Overall condition is very good. BOOK CONDITION: There is a small surface scratch to the top front cover otherwise the book is very good with sharp corners and bright lettering on very clean covers, the binding is tight and the interior is very clean also. DESCRIPTION: Illustrated with over 760 photographs and 450 line drawings. Text evaluates the Steuben Glass Works founded by Rockwell in 1903. Biographical information included on Carder as an artist and entrepreneur. Inscribed by Author(s).
