Cloth slightly worn, very good; very corners dog-eared, 28 pages have some names underlined mostly in red (some pages with one or a few, others pages with several). Good overall. An account of the names, marriages and births of the families which settled, or which have resided in East Haven, from its settlement in 1644 to the year 1800; and includes deaths since 1773 other those mentioned but residing in other towns. This entire work an Appendix to the History of East Haven by Sarah E. Hughes. ; Portrait, map; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 176 pages.

Some edge wear to cover and fraying at spine ends and tips of corners. Closed tear down one side of spine. Front hinge cracked. Previous owner's name on reverse of endpaper. Pages a little darkened but in very good, clean conition. Size: 32mo - over 4" - 5" tall.

Early edition of this much reprinted collection, in exceptionally good internal order with clean crisp and bright pages from front to back, bar a little marking and former owner's details to title page. The covers show light scuffing, edge-wear, and light rubbing to the corners and spine-ends. The bindng is solid. The front hinge is cracked, but with the binding otherwise. The contents are bright and legible, but with light scattered foxing.

Excerpts, passages and quotations from most of Shakespeare's plays (excluding Merry Wives of Windsor), organized by Comedies, Historical Plays and Tragedies. Excerpts are in chronological order within each play, with given titles commenting on their subject matter and providing some commentary (e.g. "Lady Percy's Pathetic Speech to her Husband," "Anger," "Harmless Innocence," etc.). Index at back. Signatures of previous owners on inside cover and front flyleaf in ink. Good condition: front cover detached but present; foxed.
