In the original publisher's illustrated and price-clipped dustjacket which has some edge wear to the extremities and a few closed tears which are now neatly repaired to the inside of the dustjacket with clear archive tape. The dustjacket has some internal foxing (brown spots) and some light smudging to the covers. The first few front and rear pages are sunned, the page fore-edges are uniformly tanned and the pages are lightly tanned, otherwise No Inscriptions or other Marks. 128 pp. Lovingly illustrated in b/w and colour by Doreen Baxter. Overall, apart from the 'faults', as detailed above, this is a tight and secure, 'Good' copy. With decorative endpapers and titles, in text illustrations, and full-page colour plates by the author. Some minor rubbing to the head of the spine, a scuff to the front boards, and markings to the head of p.34-35; else in lovely clean condition. 25.5 cm tall. This beautifully illustrated collection of fairy stories is Baxter's first published title, and first of a series stories to be published at The Brockhamton Press, followed by Dreamland Frolics (1951) and Woodland Frolics (1952).
