Popular ballad relating the tale of the Dover Seaman with ''excellent parts for strength and learning,' and of ' A beautiful lady whose name it was Ruth, A squire's young daughter, near Sandwich in Kent.' The verses relate all the difficulties and challenges their love has to overcome before they are finally able to wed.
