Condition: Fair. 1937. 95 pages. No dust jacket. Green pictorial boards with a cloth spine. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Pages 55 - 58 are detached and have been taped into place. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Gift inscription to Lissner on the half-title page (non-authorial).

Internally it would be good except that a child has coloured in the first nine of the black and white drawings. Either the child became bored or was reprimanded as the remaining 21 or so are untouched. 3 colour plates.

Illustrated endpapers, name ffep, except for some foxing, clean and tight. Four color and many b/w illustrations about wire-haired fox terriers Rags and Tatters had spent Christmas at Merriemead along with the Aberdeen Terrier, Mr. Binks. The two terriers stray and get lost for a few days, but luckily they meet up with Tuppence, a mongrel terrier who looks a lot like an Irish Terrierr. 96 pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Book has tan and orange boards and illustrated endpapers by Edgar Northfield. A color frontispiece on coated paper and internal illustrations. The dust jacket is VERY GOOD and has a color tipped in image of "Rags" and "Tatters" on the front panel. The jacket has over all edge wear. Selling quality books for 35 years.

Dustwrapper (now protected) is badly worn around all edges with tearing and loss at corners, with 1/5 of spine affected by latter. There are many lovely illustrations by Edgar Norfield in colour and B&W. The book is in good condition with beige boards and black lettering; there is some fading of the endpapers and some rubbing at the edges. The dustjacket is in good condition, is unprice clipped and is protected by a mylar cover. This was NEVER A LIBRARY BOOK.
