Book has previous owners' names, pages unmarked, original blue fabric with blind embossed flag on front cover, silver gilt spine text starting to wear but still readable, corners bumped, pages age toned. No jacket. A nice, clean, tight and attractive book. Served in Kentucky First Cavalry.

Evansville, IN: Amelia W. Dyer, 1898. 1st ed. 332pp. Portrait frontis., plates (one color). Orig. cloth, Spine lightly sunned, light wear to spine ends, else a very good copy. HOWES D-623. Dyer served with 1st Kentucky Cavalry and participated in Chicamauga, Atlanta, Savannah, and Carolinas campaigns. He ended his service as part of the detachment which escorted Jefferson Davis when he attempted to flee the South.
