Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. First Edition. No inscriptions and no previous owners name. The DJ is very good. Very, very minor shelfwear. Irregularly price clipped on front flap but the front flap still has all its information. Minor chip top back, left corner of DJ. Otherwise the dust… jacket is intact. The book itself has red cloth hardcovers and is very good indeed. The pages are clean and the spine is tight. 144 plates. Large format. Measures 9 x 12 inches approx. This book weighs over 1.5 kilos or over 3 pounds; UK orders only please? Being sold by a long established UK seller and not a mass lister., ie., this book is just as described and is not damaged in any other way; it is not ex-library. PLEASE note that international orders will incur considerable extra postage due to weight. A very good copy for a book which is already 45 years plus. A book of wonderful intuitive vision.

Size: 23.2cm x 29.3cm. pp. xvi, 156. Copy of Isobel, Baroness Radnor, with her armorial bookplate and inscribed to her by the author 'with affectionate good wishes'.… Also includes two autograph letters from Eates to Radnor in an envelope which has been attached to the front paste-down. One of these discusses how surprised she is by the success of the book and how: "I wish you'd known Paul. He was one of Harley's and my closest friends" and "If he opened the door and walked in I'd simply say 'Darling Paul, how splendid to see you,' and go on from where we left off." The second letter refers to her visit to see the 'Whistler glass at Moreton… as well as the recumbent effigy of (T. E.) Lawrence. Did you know, by the way, that Lawrence insisted on the engravings for the 'Special' edition of the Seven Pillars being done by Paul Nash? Lawrence himself was a student of Margaret Nash's father, who taught him Arabic at Oxford". Illustrated throughout in colour.
