Antique children's book/annual. Inscribed and awarded in 1912. Packed for of great adventure stories, culture, science, history, etc. Many wonderful colour and black and white images. Some minor foxing, due to age, throughout.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Loosely bound, illustrated, card boards. Scuffing, tears, creases and dust spotting on cover and spine. No jacket.

Front board depicts 2 children " In the Hayfield". Pictorial endpapers. Lovely colour frontis. Two-tone illustrations plus many black and white illustrations throughout. Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Three Little Pigs, Mouseykins and Dog Toby (all 1929) and Teeny-weeny Tales (1930). Square 64mo's, unpaginated, approx pp70 each Volume with b/w illustrations throughout each. All volumes bound with pictorial paper covered boards in fair to good condition with chipping, rubbing and splits with pieces missing to 3 of the spines. There is rubbing to all edges and some marking to fore edges. Inside some cracking to spines, however all bindings still holding. All pages in volumes in surprisingly clean condition with a little yellowing and the odd mark. Mrs Herbert Strang was actually the pseudonym of of George Herbert Ely (1866-1958) & C James L'Estrange (1867-1947) who were staff members of the Oxford University Press.

Small fading, scuffing and marks on cover and spine. Marks on the last few pages and closed page edges. No jacket, the first story is The Brigand who was frightened by Clive Ryland.

Book condition very good, corners and spine ends slightly rubbed, gift inscription and child's owner's name written to front paste-down, pages toned else contents very clean. Dust jacket condition good, some handling wear, chips to corners and edges, crease and tear without loss to lower edge of front panel spine sunned with tiny hole 2/3 of the way down, not clipped but no price stated. Compendium of stories for boys by various authors, many black and white illustrations throughout.

No dust jacket. Red cloth binding, black lettering and pictorial labels to front board and spine, gilt crest to rear board. Some marking and scuffing to binding, some discolouration to spine and to board edges. Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges. Bumped corners. Binding reasonably firm. Page edges browned, scuffed, foxed and a bit marked. Some marking to endpapers, previous owner name on front free endpaper. The odd mark and some patches of foxing to page surfaces but otherwise clean, no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information. 160 pp. Circa 1920. n.

Inscribed pen inscription to previous owner in ink school prize dated December 1940. Tightly bound with illustrated cloth boards and matching jacket illustration. Closed page edges exhibit natural tanning. Minor shelf wear present with scuffed and chipped jacket edges. Jacket back cover has a single closed tear and large crease present. The cover and jacket illustration show a girl sitting at the wheel of a motor car.

The blank endpapers have tanned a little. Attractive marbled endpapers at front and rear and attractive bright gilt border along inside edges of front and rear boards. Minor wear to the leather cover with fading along the spine. Tight binding.
