Square 64mo's, unpaginated, approx pp70 each Volume with b/w illustrations throughout each. All volumes bound with pictorial paper covered boards in fair to good condition with chipping, rubbing and splits with pieces missing to 3 of the spines. There is rubbing to all edges and some marking to fore edges. Inside some cracking to spines, however all bindings still holding. All pages in volumes in surprisingly clean condition with a little yellowing and the odd mark. Mrs Herbert Strang was actually the pseudonym of of George Herbert Ely (1866-1958) & C James L'Estrange (1867-1947) who were staff members of the Oxford University Press.
