SUPERB: CLASSIC: INDISPENSABLE: NEW First Yale Nota Bene Edition (0rig. 1977) 11th Printing (c. 1998): NEW handsomely designed matte-gloss laminated card-stock cover, NEW uncreased binding, IMMACCULATE smooth-cut text-block exterior, PRISTINE interior han…dsomely printed on SUPERB archival paper * 6.0" x 9.24" x 1.16", 0.49 kg, xx+588 (608) pp. * Winner of the Ninth Annual James Russell Lowell Prize of the Modern Language Association * ABOUT THE BOOK: This prize-winning work provides a facsimile of the 1609 Quarto printed in parallel with a conservatively edited, modernized text, as well as a commentary that ranges from brief glosses to substantial critical essays. Stephen booth's notes help a modern reader toward the kind of understanding that Renaissance readers brought to the works. * HIGHEST PRASE: "This edition of the sonnets is a heroic enterprise. . . . [Booth's] annotation does far more than any previous edition to show the fantastically rich way that Shakespeare exploits the verbal resources of his culture. . . . No serious reader of the sonnets will want to do without Booth's edition." - C.L. Barber, NYRB "Booth's edition, like Shakespeare's sonnets, is something of a miracle. Hs extensive commentary, like the poems it describes, is a dazzling commixture of intricate detail, multiplicity, bombast, bawdy, suppleness, and grandeur. . . . [It] will enlarge and alter its reader's experience -- of the sonnets, of the plays, and of other texts as well." - Carol Thomas Neely, Modern Philology * SHIPPING: MNEMOSYNE carefully wraps, labels & custom-packages this SUPERB edition for FREE domestic shipment via USPS MEDIA MAIL (or USPS PRIORITY MAIL for a below-cost additional fee) & via USPS FIRST CLASS INTERNATIONAL AIRMAIL to international destinations at our posted rates.

Softcovers. Condition: Very Good. Presumed First Edition. 1986. Presumed first edition. 60pp. William Frank Currotto (1925-2003) was an American soldier. This book is a re-telling of stories from J.C. Harris's 'Brer Rabbit', based on stories he read to his children. He has also written some brand new stories. The book is staple-…bound in the original card covers with titling and an illustration on the front cover. The book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and yellowing down the spine edge of the front and rear cover and bumping to the top corners. The contents are secure and clean with the following inscription on the title-page: "In grateful appreciation to the children of Scotland for kindness extended to me by your parents. W.F.C.". The preface has been signed "William F. Currotto" but it is difficult to tell if this is a genuine signature or has been printed. The top corners of the pages are lightly bumped. Signed by Author(s).
