Hamilton Wright Mabie (1846-1916) was an influential American essayist, critic, and editor whose work shaped early 20th-century approaches to children's literature and moral education. As a long-time editor at The Outlook, Mabie promoted accessible literature for young readers and curated numerous anthologies that blended storytelling with cultural enrichment. His editorial leadership defined The Young Folks' Treasury as one of the most respected juvenile collections of its era.
