An extremely limited run on 100 copies. Very good condition on fine laid paper. Measures 11.75 x 8.25. Printed December 1987. Poem begins, "We met and married a long time ago / worked for long hours when wages were low / no TV, no wireless, no bath, times were hard / just a cold tap and a walk up the yard.".

Printed in hand made paper at the Penmiel Press. First page is an offset lithograph portrait of Lincoln, originally published in 1864. Large wood engraving by Diana Bloomfield and a quote from Lincoln occupy pages 2-3. Printed in black and red. Page 4 is the colophon, explaining that this was printed at the Penmiel Press by Edward Burrett in an edition of 50 copies. This is copy number 27. Printed December, 1987. Very good condition. Measures 10.74 x 14 inches.

This book was printed in an edition of one hundred copies and is signed on the colophon by Edward Burrett (Edward Burrett and the Penmiel Press pg 23). The text paper is by T.H.Saunders pure rage mould-made and the type faces used ( all composed by hand) are monotype Garamond series 156, perpetua titling series 258 and temple script series 455. Written, designed, and printed letterpress by Burrett. There are a total of nine caricatures are tipped-in. Seven of them are in color. The two that are in grayscale are photo-reproductions( taken during the war) of the color originals. There are two additional ones printed on the endpapers. Stiff paper chemise is lightly worn at the corners and a bit faded at the outer edge. cloth with paper label on front cover, gilt decoration, stiff paper chemise.
