In fine three quarter olive green cloth and oatmeal coloured linen-effect cloth, with gilt titles to front and to spine ("book cloth and linson and gold foil blocked by Robert Hartnoll, Bodmin Cornwall). The boards are very flat, tight and clean and with strong edges and spine ends. The end papers feature black sketches of boats and are unmarked. The text block is about half pictorial with water colours and sketches in black and white and colour. The pages are very tightly bound, even and clean. Fine condition. No dedications etc. The print number and author's signature is appears after The Index. In mylar jacket. And in very good minus pale green card slipcase. The second letter discusses the upcoming publication of his autobiography and the publishers acknowledgement of the original owners name confirmed on the wait list for purchase. Richmond is the ideal centre for exploring Swaledale and is reached by modern diesel trains from the East Coast Mainline at Darlington. Located in the Yorkshire Dales Richmond Castle is one of Britain's finest Norman castles built after the Norman Conquest from 1071; the castle was used during World War One by the northern Non-Combatant Corps and is now a Scheduled Monument popular with tourists.
