Henry IV's arms in gilt embossed to the boards, also covered in gilt-stamped fleur-de-lis, raised bands and gilt lettering to spine; all edges gilt, marbled endp…apers. Minor yellowing to endpapers, otherwise internally clean. Title Title page illustrated with a black & white drawing of Henry IV. Hardouin de Perefixe was the Archbishop of Paris: the book is panegyric and exhortation of moral virtue to Louis XIV whom Perefixe tutored, mainly advising him against imitating the lustful adultery of Henry IV. Beautifully bound 12mo.
