Bound without title or any text in contemporary half dark calf over purple boards, titled in gilt "Flowers & Plants" to upper cover. 60 full page photo-lithographed sepia plates, signed, and mostly dated 1879 or 1880 in the plate. Binding rubbed, spine partially perished, plates clean. An uncommon book normally bound in 2 vols. with title page and one leaf of letterpress to each volume. Thomas William Hammond, 1854-1935, was a respected Nottingham artist, born in America, who published this book intended as a guide for draughtsmen and designers.

(complet). Relié en demi-maroquin rouge à coins, tranches dorées, dos à 5 nerfs avec dorure et titre doré. Avec une dédicace manuscrite de l'auteur à M. Prétel, précepteur. Qq. infimes rousseurs sinon bel exemplaire. On joint une notice biographique sur l'abbé Thomas (Garches 1905, in-12°, 8 pp).
Globe terrestre signé "Globe métrique. E. Bertaux éditeur. G. Thomas, Sucr". Le globe est donc datable entre 1904 et 1914. Il mesure 25cm de diamètre et environ 43cm de hauteur. Le globe à monture polaire est posé sur un pied en bois noirci tourné. Malgré un enfoncement dans la Sibérie et une cartographie de l'Empire Russe légèrement effacée, assez bon état pour ce globe à la cartographie encore bien colorée.
