Engelbert Klüpfel (1733-1811) was a major Catholic theologian during the Enlightenment and professor of dogmatics at the University of Freiburg until 1805. His Institutiones theologiae dogmaticae (1789) became the standard textbook of dogmatics in Austria. The Nova bibliotheca ecclesiastica Friburgensis, which he founded and largely authored, was one of the first Catholic theological journals and offered critical commentary on works of theology. It was published in seven volumes from 1775-1790; only volumes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 are present here, each in and of itself complete. Each volume consists of four fascicules, with separate title pages.
