Game. Whereas the Game upon the Farms belonging to or occupied by us respectively, situate at Kinfare and Compton. having been of late Years shamefully destroyed and much damage to the Farms. Notice is hereby given to forwarn all Persons from Trespassing and Sporting upon any of our said Farms; and that the Gamekeeper is directed to lay informations against all unqualified Persons, who shall be found Sporting thereon. Witness our hands this 18th of August, 1809.

Add to basketSigned in the text by thirteen names, including John Smith, John Holt, and John Hancox, Gamekeeper. Light fold marks, some edge wear to left hand margin. 25 x 21cm. Not recorded on ESTC, which notes just two other printings by Joseph Rollason, in 1797 and 1799, but he was active as a printer between 1795-1829. On 19th August 1805, Mr Hancox, the Gamekeeper, placed a similar notice in Aris's Birmingham Gazette: 'The Game upon the Estates of the late Honourable Mrs. Foley, within the Manors of Kinfare and Compton Hallows, in the County of Stafford, having of late Years been much destroyed; it is particularly requested by the Guardian of the Children, and Trustees of the Estates, that Gentlemen will forbear to sport upon the late Mrs. Foley's Estates, Woods, and Plantations'.
