Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. In German. Apparent First Edition (SD). ( 'Erwin Stransky's Lehrbuch der allgemeinen und speziellen Psychiatrie was officially published as a complete two-volume work spanning from 1914 to 1919. In 1914 the first volume, Allgemeiner Teil (General Part), was officially released. Note that while some library catalogs list a copyright or printing preparation date of late 1913, its true publication and standard citation year for the first volume is 1914.') Once listed, this will be the only original (1914) copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. 'With eleven illustrations, a color plate, and a pharmacological appendix.' 'A classic medical textbook. Historical Significance: It was primarily aimed at medical students and practicing physicians. The work offers deep insights into early psychiatric teaching, research, and the classification of mental illnesses at the beginning of the 20th century.' You can see the covers in the photos. The gilt lettering on both the front and the spine is still bright. There is a bit of wear at the top and bottom edges of the spine, two small spots of rub-through at the bottom one. There is a little bit of rubbing in a few small spots along the edges of the spine. There's also a thin tear just off the top edge of the rear side of the spine. There's a small white discoloration on the rear cover. There is a small spot of rub-through on the front top edge and one tiny nick on the rear top edge. There is a very small spot of rub-through on the front bottom edge. There is also some thin rub-through around the front bottom corner. The three page edges have a maroon topstain. It looks very good. The book is square and the spine looks straight. The binding is quite solid from cover to cover. The covers themselves are nicely, tightly bound. The inside covers and end papers are black. Off the top edge of the front end paper there is a penciled signature along with an old price. On the black color they appear to be silver. The pages are in quite solid condition. Scrolling through I found around a dozen instances of a page with a light stain at its white margin, none reaching the print. I also found a handful of instances of a crease below a top corner. There are also some instances of a minor crinkle on a white margin. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And the aforementioned signature represents the only writing to be found anywhere in the book.

The author examines how geographical factors, ethnic and racial diversity, and cultural traits have played a role in shaping perceptions of Germany and its people. They explore the impact of historical events, political decisions, and economic conditions on the formation of these negative views. The book also analyzes the psychological mechanisms that underlie the persistence of anti-German sentiment, including stereotypes, prejudices, and historical narratives. By providing a comprehensive analysis of the causes and consequences of anti-Germanism, this book offers insights into the complexities of international relations and the challenges of overcoming historical animosities. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
