This is a detailed introduction to flies and their purpose, with much historical and practical comment. Subjects covered include; flies practical or decorative?; the views, history and flies of Stewart and his predecessors, the same for Halford, Marryat, Skues, Sawyer, Gordon, Leisenring; the influence of these men and their flies on Danish flyfishing and fly tying; 'caddis, caddis, caddis - asystem'; Dutch 'bundskraber' ('bottom scrapers') for Nordic fish; flies that aren't truly flies; nymphs that aren't truly nymphs; observations on fly-tying; lots on sea-trout, brown-trout, grayling and salmon and their flies - more on sea-trout and salmon than the others, especially from a Nordic and Danish perspective; indexes of fly patterns for each species; ploys for fly-tyers. Text in Danish. The Danish flyfishing literature is ecclectic, extensive, and up to date. It would be non too difficult to learn to at least read Danish to get to grips with it, and almost certainly well worth the effort. .
