Originally a doctoral dissertation, the book is highly regarded for its meticulous tracing of magical terminology and practices through t…he lens of Latin authors up to the 3rd century AD. A very nice copy. Pages are excellent with the only mild flaw two subtle stamps of a former religious college (one on title page - see photos - and the other hidden back on the rear pasteboard). Other than this pages are excellent: bright, clean, no other markings or foxing. Binding is excellent. Boards are square and tidy, gilt lettering and gilt front design are vivid and bright. A few age related spots on front board but a really nice copy. No sun fading or splitting to spine. See photos, all of which are of the copy for sale, we don't use stock photos.
