Condition: Good. First edition (hardback). 8vo (25cm by 19cm), 124pp. Portrait frontispiece. Original blue cloth, gilt titling to the front board, no dustwrapper. There is some foxing of the endpapers; otherwise, this book is in very good condition.

307 pp including index, followed by publisher's catalogue, b&w photographic plates, maps (1 folding), end-papers and title page foxed, else fine copy in blue, cloth boards. 'Library of Parliament, New South Wales' gilt stamped on upper board.

16pp., 12mo. Stapled. In cream wraps, with the title in brown on front cover. In fair condition, on lightly-aged paper, with vertical fold and slight rust staining to cover from staple. From the Evans family papers, which include those of de Grasse's descendant Lady Marie de Grasse Evans [née Stevens]. No copy traced, either in English-speaking libraries or the Bibliotheque Nationale.

Original wrappers a bit soiled. Portrait on front wrapper with a mild old crease. Very clean on the inside. Printed on glossy paper. A very good copy of a scarce item. A very scarce lecture brochure for Commander Evans lecture in Nottingham. We see that Spence lists a copy of Evans lecture brochures but not this one. I believe I have seen an example before but do not seem to be able to find one listed. Very, very scarce Scott ephemera.

Mounted photograph slightly wrinkled with tiny crease to lower corner, tiny spot to lower margin and some pale browning to advert leaf, otherwise a very good copy of an ephemeral item. See Sydney A.
