Prime 8 carte parzialmente distaccate con lievi tracce d'umidità e piccole mancanze marginali; cerniera anteriore distaccata; strappo alla carta K2 della seconda parte (pp. 131-132), senza perdita di testo. Ottimo stato complessivo, con leggere macchie marginali.Rara e importante edizione cinquecentesca completa del celebre commento di Simone Fornari all'Orlando Furioso, tra le più autorevoli esegesi rinascimentali del capolavoro ariostesco. Stampata dal tipografo ducale Lorenzo Torrentino, figura centrale dell'editoria fiorentina del XVI secolo sotto il patrocinio mediceo, l'opera testimonia la straordinaria fortuna critica dell'Ariosto già pochi decenni dopo la pubblicazione del Furioso. Legatura strettamente coeva in piena pergamena floscia con titoli manoscritti al dorso ed al taglio inferiore. Pergamena della leg. un po' avvizzita e privo delle prime sguardie, peraltro esemplare particolarmente genuino e ben conservato. In elegante corsivo. Cfr. Gamba (1399): "E' preceduta questa riputatissima Spositione da una Vita dell'Ariosto, scritta dal Fornari, ch'era di Reggio Calabria, e ch'ebbe lunga permanenza in Pisa.".
