Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Jacket lightly soiled. Price removed from front flap with an abrasion to the paper. Moisture damage to foot of text block has resulted in leaves stuck together at five different spots along the foot. When separated both leaves were left with abrasions of about three eighths of an inch high with the worst example just over an inch long. None of these affect text or illustrations. Gift inscription to front free end-paper. Binding firm, text unmarked.

Lightly bumped spine ends, tips still sharp. Tidy former owner's name in space provided on a Wesley Dennis illustrated horse head bookplate on frt pastedown. 40 pp of text with 20 pp of b/w captioned photographs in the center of the volume. There is light ink underlining on 7 text pages. Unclipped, white background, lightly surface soiled dust wrapper has two one-inch tears at the foot of the rear panel and a couple of micro rubs on the flap fold corners. Displays well in new mylar with shadow-like photo of Caprilli riding that takes up the entire cover. The price is a hand written sticker at the lower fore-edge of the front flap.

Der Einband zeigt leichte Gebrauchsspuren, wie kleinere Kratzer oder leichte Abnutzung an den Ecken, ist jedoch intakt und ohne größere Beschädigungen. Der Buchrücken ist stabil und weist keine lose oder gebrochene Bindung auf, obwohl eine leichte Lesefalte sichtbar sein kann. Die Seiten des Buches sind vollständig, ohne größere Mängel wie Risse oder Flecken, und zeigen ein wenig Verfärbungen oder eine mögliche Vergilbung an den Rändern, die aufgrund des Alters normal sind. Auch die Ecken und Kanten des Buches sind leicht abgenutzt, jedoch nicht stark beschädigt. Falls ein Schutzumschlag vorhanden ist, weist dieser möglicherweise kleine Knicke oder Verfärbungen auf, ist jedoch nicht zerrissen oder stark beschädigt. The text and the photos show the stages through which Captain Caprilli developed innovative ways for cavalrymen to approach jumps and to proceed down steep hills. A lightly read copy that would be Nrear Fine except for the sticky two photo pages. Very Good+, two pages in the photo insert are stuck together near the gutter, not affecting pictures;dust jacket is Very Good+, slight bump to top of spine mainly affecting the dust jacket. ,
