So kommt den beiden schönen Faksimile- Bänden von Lajos Vayer und Dénes Pataky eine erfreuliche Rolle zu, da sie von bisher wahrhaft verborgenen Schätzen eindrucksvolle Kunde geben. Die Sammlung ist in ihrer Art nicht weniger bedeutend als die mit Recht berühmte Budapester Gemäldegalerie. Wenn sie sich auch mit den reichen Samm- lungen von Wien, Paris und London um nur einige zu nennen nicht messen kann, wenn sie auch keine Zeichnung von Michelangelo besitzt und die Zeichen- kunst des Rubens nur durch ein weniger bedeutendes, die Bruegels aber nur durch ein zweifelhaftes Blatt vertreten ist, zeigt sie trotzdem in reicher Vielfalt die Entwicklung der europäischen Zeichenkunst.
