First 4to, cloth. 192 pp, 123 illustrations (1 in color) plus color frontispiece portrait. The Norwegian-born Nygaard (1903-1989) was a practicing surgeon in the United States from 1929. The first part of his career (1931-37) was spent at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and after a three-year return to Norway, from 1940 to 1979 at White Plains Hospital in Westchester County, NY. In his parallel career as a sculptor, which began around 1950, he created works of a Rodin-like eternal nature. Among the more than 40 pieces illustrated are portraits of Marcel Duchamp and Percy Grainger, both of whom were his patients, as well as Auguste Rodin and Edvard Munch, who were not. Fine in dj; inscribed by Nygaard.

The Aarhus international Poster Show comprised of three exhibitions, all of which opened on August 17, 2012 and were followed by a symposium the next day. The posters were from all over the world and all were created in the 2 years just prior to 2012. With their powerful messages and use of individual metaphors they illustrate the wide variety of possibilities as well as the tremendous reach of the poster across language barriers and national borders. The posters are an eye-opening experience and a delight to the eye. They take us on a journey through a world of opinions, missions and visions. Includes list of the over 100 poster artists in this exhibition., Danish / English, Year2012, Illust. B/W, Illust. ColorRichly Illustrated, ISBN 8790552245, Code 6876.
