A fine original colour lithograph from Vanity Fair, a magazine which was published from 1869-1914, featuring a large caricature portrait each week. These were drawn by various artists, the most famous of whom was Leslie Ward who used the 'nom de crayon' of "Spy". This portrait will come mounted/matted and ready to frame using archivist quality materials, mount size 18 x 12 inches, 47 x 31 cms. It will be presented in a cellophane wrapper with our label guaranteeing authenticity. We pack very well, between sheets of hardboard. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a portrait of Lord Otho Fitzgerald, with the caption "A Message from the Queen" and a page of biographical detail. Lord Otho Augustus FitzGerald (10 October 1827 - 19 November 1882) was the third son of Augustus FitzGerald, 3rd Duke of Leinster.

The author was the Medical Superintendent of Shenley Hospital. Described in one review as a "characterologist," Fitzgerald in this book discusses the effects of both "inborn" personality types (introvert and extrovert) and "acquired" personality traits (the hysterical, the obsessional and the paranoid) and their effects on certain types of mental illness. In a positive contemporary review in the *Journal of Mental Science*, J. E. Nicole wrote that "Whether or not yet another system of typology will help clarify or otherwise the intricate riddle of personality remains to be seen, but this book is certainly interesting and valuably suggestive.".
