viii, [9]-255 pp. Original cloth. Small nicks in vertical edges of covers. Cloth eroded along 1 inch of the rear joint. NOTE: Paper label of Dale News, Inc., Lily Dale, N.Y. on title page over Henry Holt imprint. This label is also on the front flyleaf. Good. This copy does NOT have any library markings. Home University Library of Modern Knowledge no. 24. Because of the paper label over the title page imprint, I do not know if the London: Williams and Norgate imprint is also on the title page, printed beneath the Henry Holt imprint. Having looked at digitizations of other copies, my best guess is that this is a later printing by Henry Holt. Henry Holt and Company is stamped at the bottom of the spine. The book was first published in London in 1911 by Williams and Norgate. Quoting from the internet: Holt (1840-1926) was an "American publisher who encouraged the publication of books on psychic phenomena. . . . In 1866 Holt became a partner in the publishing company of George P. Putnam, and later founded Henry Holt and Company. He also became a council member of the American Society for Psychical Research. Holt's interest in psychic phenomena led him to promote research and to publish books on the subject, including his own work On the Cosmic Relations (2 vols., 1914). A revised edition was issued after World War I with additional matter on immortality, under the title The Cosmic Relations and Immortality (1918).".
