Original half tan leather (spine and corners) and marbeled paste-down paper covered boards, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches,904 pp, illustrated with engraved frontispiece, by Longacre (James Barton). Hardcover, very good. Corners bumped with a bit of cardboard exposed there, bit rubbed along edges, approximately 1 1/2 inch of chipping along front joint. Internally, "55" written on front and rear endpapers, the usual foxing and tanning, upper corner of title page creased, otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked and apparently never read. Christian Frederick Swartz was a Protestant missionary who arrived in Tritchinapoly, India in 1766, built a church at Tanjore, survived the famines and wars of 1781-83, and 1794, and died in 1798. Includes excerpts from his letters, etc. Besides the religious interest, an interesting account of life in India during the British colonial period. Biography; religion; history; travel; Christian.

Elle se transformera vers la mi-1964 en parti politique, noyau à partir duquel se forma début 1965 l'Union des Jeunesses Révolutionnaires Congolaises, qui prendra sa succession. Dans ses Statuts, le FPC s'y affirme comme un parti politique qui "prend comme guide la théorie révolutionnaire basée sur la conception scientifique du monde et des lois de la société humaine". Elle se transformera vers la mi-1964 en parti politique, noyau à partir duquel se forma début 1965 l'Union des Jeunesses Révolutionnaires Congolaises, qui prendra sa succession. Neuf documents: Comptes rendus des 2ème, 3ème, 4ème, 5ème et 6ème séances de travail, tenues du 16 mars au 4 mai 1964. Le compte rendu de la 1ère séance de travail, mentionnant le nom des participants, a été détruit à l'époque par mesure de sécurité; il a été décidé à la 2ème réunion de remplacer les noms par des numéros. Les comptes rendus des 2ème, 3ème, 4ème et 5ème séances ont été dactylographiés en deux exemplaires (il s'agit ici du second exemplaire en copie carbone, respectivement 6, 13, 1 et 6 pages 27,5cm x 21,5cm. Le compte rendu de la 6ème (et dernière) réunion n'ayant jamais été dactylographié, figurent ici l'ordre du jour, un début de compte rendu et 10 pages de notes prises à la réunion, ces trois documents étant manuscrits. Les comptes rendus, résumant chaque intervention, étaient approuvés lors de la réunion suivante et paraphés par chaque participant (les copies ne l'ont pas été). Ils incluent notamment le rapport d'un des membres ayant assisté au VIIIème Congrès de l'Association des Juristes Démocrates tenue à Budapest et le rapport des contacts pris par trois membres à Paris avec J(ean) P(ierre) N('Diaye) (sociologue sénégalais, responsable du Bureau d'Etudes des Réalités Africaines), R(obert) C(ornevin) (chef du Centre d'étude sur l'Afrique et l'Outre-Mer), N(guyen) K(ien) et l'avocat J(acques) M(ansour) V(ergès) (tous deux de la revue "Révolution", première revue pro-chinoise publiée en France). Statuts du FPC (Agrafé, 28 pages stencylées 27,5cm x 21,5cm, non datées - en fait entre mai et novembre 1964). Le FPC s'y affirme comme un parti politique qui "prend comme guide la théorie révolutionnaire basée sur la conception scientifique du monde et des lois de la société humaine". Le document insiste particulièrement sur l'importance de l'organisation et de la discipline, qui font l'objet d'un préambule de 6pp. Deux projets différents d'emblème du FPC sur papier transparent, portant tous deux la devise du FPC "Libération, Edification, Socialisme" (10cm x 10cm et 14cm x 14cm). Photocopie du Mémorandum en allemand adressé par le FPC au Comité de Solidarité Afro-Asiatique de la République Démocratique Allemande, intitulé "Bedarf des FPC zur Reorganisierung und Führung der Volksrevolution im Kongo" (Agrafé, 4 pages dactylographiées 29,5cm x 21cm, non datées - en fait fin 1964 ou début 1965).
