Add to basketCondition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Travels of a Capitalist Lackey (1965) by Fred Basnett Companion Book Club Edition Sold by: Crappy Old Books Step aside, earnest travel writers and polished jet-setters?Fred Basnett is here to take you on a ride that?s part travelogue, part satire, and entirely unfiltered. In Travels…of a Capitalist Lackey , this unrepentant everyman lumbers across Europe not in search of enlightenment, but in pursuit of cheap beds, strong drink, and the occasional warm meal. Armed with dry wit, a battered suitcase, and a healthy disdain for pretension, Basnett skewers tourist traps, bureaucracies, and cultural absurdities with a laugh-out-loud charm. From grimy pensions to unexpected conversations with fellow misfits, this 1960s jaunt is as much about surviving the journey as it is about the destinations. A forgotten gem reissued in all its gloriously outdated glory by Crappy Old Books ?perfect for anyone who prefers their travel tales served with sarcasm, skepticism, and a touch of socialist suspicion. Out of print, slightly musty, and well worth the trip.
