Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'Animals of the Past: An Account of Some of the Creatures of the Ancient World' is a classic exploration into the fascinating realm of prehistoric life. Written by distinguished naturalist Frederick A. Lucas, this work provides a comprehensive and accessible look at the remarkable creatures that roamed the Earth long before the dawn of human history. From the massive dinosaurs of the Mesozoic era to the majestic mammoths and mastodons of the Ice Age, the narrative brings these extinct wonders to life through detailed descriptions and scientific insight. The book delves into the intriguing process of fossilization and the methods used by paleontologists to reconstruct the appearance and habits of long-vanished species. It examines the evolution of life, the enduring mysteries of extinction, and the incredible diversity of the ancient animal kingdom. By bridging the gap between rigorous scientific inquiry and engaging storytelling, 'Animals of the Past' serves as both an educational resource and a captivating narrative for anyone interested in the deep history of our planet. This work remains a significant contribution to the literature of natural history, capturing the wonder and curiosity that drive the study of the ancient world and the extraordinary beasts that once inhabited it.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
