"He carried the torch for the dry fly.as rabid a reformer as ever was. Like most reformers.he hurt his case by over enthusiasm. He and his followers became known as 'purists' whose gospel was the sacredness of the dry fly. To them no other method of taking trout was even respectable" (von Kienbusch). Very good.
