Friedrich Wilhelm von BISSING (Potsdam, 1873 - Oberaudorf, 1956) è stato un egittologo tedesco. Studiò filologia classica, archeologia, egittologia e storia dell'arte a Bonn e a Berlino, ottenendo il dottorato nel 1896 con la tesi 'De tabula quam dicunt statistica Tuthmosis III commentatio'. Dopo la laurea, trascorse dei giorni in Egitto, lavorando come scavatore. Nel 1900 riceve la sua abilitazione presso l'Università di Monaco, dove successivamente conseguì gli incarichi di professore associato (1905) e professore ordinario (1906). Dal 1922 fino al suo ritiro nel 1926, fu professore presso l'Università di Utrecht.
