Original Printed Wrappers. Condition: Very Good. From Photographs (illustrator). First Edition. San Francisco: Sierra Club, 1907. First Edition. June, 1907 Issue [Vol VI, No. 3]. Original printed wrappers, 9 1/4" x 6". 58 numbered pp. + 15 photographs on 10 pages + 8 pp. ads, which latter include several sharp railroad/travel ads. Good, plus; rear cover shows notable tear from long ago, tape-repaired long ago; see scan. No other salient flaws, other than the ever-present crinkle to the edges of the covers and some of the uncut pages caused by the over-extended circuit-binding ("yapp" binding) favored by the Club at that time. Contents near fine. Clean, binding sturdy. Closer to VG than Good, but, technically, Good. See all scans. Lead article by Alden Sampson, "The Aftermath of a Club Outing" (?!), spans some 23 pages. Also in this issue: Along the Foothills of Lake Chabot (W.R. Whyte); Mt. Rose Weather Observatory (J.E. Church, Jr.); The Ascent of Asama-Yama (E.A. Wicher); and regular departments. Illustrated as always with plenty of black-and-white photographic plates. Scarce. LSC1.

Original Printed Wrappers. Condition: Very Good. From Photographs (illustrator). First Edition. San Francisco: Sierra Club, 1909. First Edition. June, 1909 Issue [Vol VII, No. 2]. Original printed wrappers, 9 3/4" x 6 1/4". Photographs. Some edge wear to wraps, contents near fine. Another nice Very Good; some darkening at perimeter, but the main flaw, as is so often the case, is the inevitable modest fold-in of the circuit binding (yapp binding), in which the covers are intentionally larger than the page block, a condition which leads to a little fold-in of the edges. See scan. Clean, binding sturdy. Overall, very good or better. Lead articles include Camping on the Yosemite (Harriet Monroe); From Kern Canyon to Giant Forest (William Conger Morgan); Sledging Trip Up Mount Whitney in the Winter (J.E. Church, Jr.). "Notes and Correspondence" include coverage of the Appalachian National Forests, Yosemite National Park, Niagara Falls, Hetchy-Hetchy Valley, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Standard departments as well. Illustrated with plenty of spectacular black-and-white glossy photographic plates by J.N. Le Conte, E.T. Parsons, and W.L. Huber. SC-2.
