Dr Garrett's forthright book provides a rational and comprehensive study of the arguments for heredity as the prime determinant of human learning. IDs thesis deserves careful study and attention if the deterioration of our once great Western educational system is to be brought to a halt. ABOUT THE AUTHOR- Henry E Garrett received his Ph.D. from Columbia University and for sixteen years (1940 - 56) headed Columbia's Department of Psychology. In 1954 he was awarded the Sc.D. by the University of Richmond . At one time or another Dr. Garrett has been visiting professor at the University of California, the University of Southern California, The University of Florida, the University of Hawaii, the University of New Mexico and the University of Virginia. Dr Garrett is past president of the Eastern Psychological Association, the Psychometric Society and the American Psychological Association. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of science and a former member of the National Rersearch Council. The author of many books, articles and monographs.
