Seine jüngsten Fotoarbeit…en sind deutlich formaler und struktureller geworden und zeigen stark malerische Qualitäten. The Japan Series entstand anlässlich des Projektes European Eyes on Japan, für das alljährlich europäische Fotografen eingeladen werden, in dem Land zu arbeiten. Einen Schwerpunkt der Serie bilden die 'Poles', für die Gefeller Strommasten in mindestens zwei Einzelaufnahmen lotrecht von unten fotografiert. In der anschließenden digitalen Zusammensetzung verschwinden die Masten und die unzähligen Kabel und Transformatoren verwandeln sich in eine autonome, abstrakte Komposition vor monochromen Hintergrund. Andere Aufnahmen zeigen Pflanzen, deren Zweige sich um rechteckige Drahtnetze und hölzerne Gitter winden.
