Zu diesem Zwecke sind einerseits die Grundlagen der Berechnung vertieft und verschärft und neue Mittel zum Entwurf der Schaufelung gegeben worden - immer mit Rücksicht auf die praktische Verwendung -, andererseits eine Reihe neuer Konstruktionsformen aufgestellt worden. The book is heavily illustrated, and contains a number of pull-outs, most of which are in excellent shape. Some are embossed with a lacy imprint of the library's name, which is not very noticeable and which has had the desired effect of keeping the illustrations intact.
