George Loder (1816-1868), English conductor and composer, spent much of his career in the United States, where he conducted the first performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in that country. He was at the New York Vocal Institute in 1844 when New York music publisher Firth & Hall published his English setting of this aria by Donizetti. In Very Good Condition: corners lightly creased; very light marginal soiling.

This suggests that the collection was published in Philadelphia around 1840. Another song by Guin was published in 1842 by Godey and McMichael in The Amateur's Musical Library. Very scarce.
