From the introduction: 'We have good reason to believe that it was the intention of our son Edwin to publish some of his literary contributions for private circulation. Having made a selection of some of his poems, a few only of which have appeared in English and American magazines, we are asking you to accept of this copy of selections as a memento of our beloved son, who died at Beisherah, a small town on a lake bearing that name, about two day's journey south-west of Konia, in Asia Minor, on July 22nd, 1916, in the thirty-fourth year of his age. His contributions in prose are too numerous to be included in this selection'. Edwin John Glockler (1882-1916) was an assistant in the Treasurer's Office at the Syrian Protestant College in Beirut during 1907 & 1908. Rare: Library Hub traces just two copies at Cambridge and the British Library.
