Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 280pp, illustrated, 62 plates, 17 maps. This book is inscribed, in ink, as a gift to a married couple from the author. No other writing, highlighting or marking found. Some foxing to the end papers, otherwise clean and sound. The cover shows no sign of bumpering, though it does have a small stain on the front cover (see scan). A very good copy that shows little handling, the binding is clean and tight, no fading to the spine or the covers. All maps and images are present. Much use of sidenotes to guide ones reading. The battalion was mobilised at the outbreak of the Great War. They moved to France in March 1915. The fought at Festubert in May 1915. The 2nd Battalion was quickly formed from volunteers. The Regiment fought at Loos, Vimy Ridge in 1916. The fought in the Battle of the Somme July 1916. When in Ypres in February 1917 they took part in trench raids. They fought throughout the Western Front until the Armistice in 1918. Their total KIAs amounted to 1050 all ranks, listed in the 'In Memoriam' at the end of this book All my books are scanned so you can see what you are buying, also mu pricing is inclusive of UK postage and packing.
