First edition. 32pp. With a photographic plate. Stapled, as issued, in original publisher's printed blue wrappers. Rubbed and sunned, staples rusted. Scattered spotting. The second located copy of a monograph by a former captain of the 10th Royal Hussars recording his experiences returning to Ypres in 1930 having fought there during the First World War in 1914; and in which he muses on the notion of Empire, paying particular regard to the question of Indian Home Rule: 'India claims her rights, her world position! No external force can dam this ever moving ocean. Amritsars may come and postpone for a time the day of recognition, but then the hour of retribution will also arrive. India must be a free partner in the Commonwealth; Indians must choose themselves their constitution. It is for England to assist, and surely the heart of India will respond. No longer a slave and a tyrant (however kind), but two peoples whose hands can meet as equal partners and honest friends'. OCLC records a single copy (Leiden); COPAC adds no further. Size: 8vo.
