Contemporary brown full tree calf, gilt on red and black lettering pieces, single gilt rule around all boards, edges of the boards gilded, narrow silk bookmarks in Vols. 3 and 4. I and II, however there is slight damage to the T and E of Terraquea in the title of Vol. III otherwise a near fine clean set with good margins and excellent maps. Vols. II, III and IV are first editions and dated 1793, 1795 and 1798. Note, ECCO does not list the 1790 first edition of Vol. I though it is in the British Library and EEBO does not locate Terraquea at all. Gordon was listed as Vicar of Barragh up to Vol. IV when he was listed as Rector of Cannaway, in the Diocese of Cork, and Vicar of Barragh, in the Diocese of Leighlin.…
