Frame, good, light wear, wood and glazed, approximately 370mm x 450mm. The work is signed. Condition is very good, the colours appear unfaded. Mount appears not to be acid free. [Biography GORDON RUSHMER, was born in Petersfield, Hampshire, in 1946 and studied at Farnham School of Art. A career in landscape painting led to him being commissioned by the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps in 1997 to record their activities in Bosnia at the end of the Balkan conflict. Since then, he has worked alongside British and Dutch elite and special forces in Kosovo, Eritrea, Iraq and Afghanistan. He was one of the first war artists into Afghanistan in early 2002 and continued to visit over the next five years. Features at the Rowntree Tryon Gallery. Rushmer has been commissioned by Royal Marine Corps, Royal Netherlands Marine Corps, Special Boat Service and Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. His work is in the collections of Mariners Museum Rotterdam, Royal Marines Museum, Palace of Westminster, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Royal Navy and Lincoln's Inn. He has exhibited his war work in Tate Britain, Imperial War Museum, Museum of Army Flying, Royal Marines Museum and various one-man touring shows.
