Edited with Notes By Grant Allen, xl, 528pp, 4pp other books illustrated by Edmund H New, black & illustrations, some full-page and some in text, frontispiece with tissue, spotting to endpapers and prelims and some pages, top edge stained black, smooth, other edges roughly trimmed and rather tatty, rear hinge splitting, visible netting, green cloth with dark green lettering and illustration to spine and upper board, spine tanned, spine ends rubbed and worn with splits to the cloth. Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A well used, hardback. First edition, published 1900. This edition is dedicated by the publisher to A.E.L in commemoration of August 13th 1898. Edited with notes by Grant Allen, Illustrated by Edmund H. New and Published by John Lane, The Bodley Head. This wonderful book is in reasonably condition, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. The spine is worn and coming away, please see images, loose binding, hand cut pages, printed ink stamp and pen and ink inscription on first blank page. 528 pages, intact, all pages, text and fabulous illustrations are in good clean, readable order, the odd mark and odd foxing, but overall considering the book is 124 years old is in ok condition. Please note this is a thick heavy book therefore postage may increase from listed price depending on final destination.
